So i’m a sucker for some peanut butter, or anything ‘nutty’ for that matter, i haven’t put a recipe up for a while so i thought i’d experiment with this one, it’s simple to make, just let all the previous cakes i’ve made on here before, i’m all for trying new things.
- 225g self raising flour
- 225g caster sugar
- 255g butter
- 4 flake bars
- 3 large tablespoons of peanut butter
- 4 eggs
- 1 vanilla pod
- 3 large tablespoons of cocoa powder
Step 1: In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar together, crack in the eggs and whisk together, cut the pods in half and scrape the vanilla out and add it to the mixture, add in the cocoa powder and peanut butter and combine, next sift in the flour, folding it in, trying to give it as much air as possible.
Step 2: In a blender I put in 3 flakes and a couple of peanuts until it was a fine crumb like consistency, and add that into the mixture, next line a baking tin with baking paper, using butter to help it stick and pour in half of mixture.
Step 3: Make a line of peanut butter going through the middle and with the last flake, break it up in press it into the mixture (as in the picture below) gently pour in the rest of the mixture covering it, making sure it evenly spread, give a tap on a flat surface to get any air bubbles out and put it into the oven at 180° for 45 minutes.
Step 4: Take it out of the oven and let it rest for 30 minutes, and then it shall be all yours to devour (PEANUT BUTTER TIME!)
