Christmas Biscuits

So it’s that time of year again, and the mulled wine is in full swing, but what’s perfect to go with that is my christmas biscuit recipe, the mixed spice literally smells like christmas, there easy to make so give it a go.


  • 100g plain flour
  • 40g butter
  • 1 tablespoon mixed spice
  • 1 teaspoon of baking power
  • ½ teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda
  • 50g caster sugar
  • zest of one lemon & one orange
  • 3 tablespoons of golden syrup


Step 1: Pre-heat the oven to 190°, sift in the flour, mixed spice, baking power, caster sugar and bicarbonate of soda in the bowl, and add in the butter, use your hands to combine, then grate in the zest of the lemon and orange and add the 3 tablespoons of golden syrup and combine once more




Step 2: Grease an oven tray with butter, take the mix and roll into small balls, about the size you can see in the photo below, place in the oven for 8 minutes, don’t be tempted to leave them in any longer otherwise they’ll go too hard





Step 3: Take them out of the oven, and let them cool for 10 minutes, and bam, all yours to eat, enjoy!
