I love pizza, who doesn’t, now this isn’t a pizza recipe in essence but it sure is something else, i’ve always loved the dough balls you could get from dominos and i wanted to try and create my own type of recipe and here you go.
- 20oz bread flour (i’m using wholegrain)
- 250ml lukewarm water
- 1 sachet of fast acting yeast
- 2 balls of mozzarella
- good handful of chorizo
- spice & herb mix (mixed herbs, salt, pepper, cayenne pepper, garlic power)
- 3 tablespoons of olive oil
Step 1: Pre heat the oven to 220°, in your mixer, add your flour and olive oil and mix together for 1 minute, whilst doing that, put the sachet of yeast into the jug of water and give it a stir, after it begins to thicken, add it into the flour mixture, leave at ingredients mix on a slow setting for around 10 minutes until they combine to make the dough
Step 2: Take a bowl and line it with olive oil, take your dough out of the mixer and form it into a ball, place a warm towel over the top and let it prove for an hour, afterwards you’ll see that it’s doubled in size
Step 3: Take your dough and put it onto a floured surface, roll it out into a decent size where you can cut it into around 12 pieces, take your mozzarella and chorizo and place them each onto of the dough pieces (don’t do what i did and nibble on the chorizo, otherwise you won’t have enough haha)
Step 4: Take your dough pieces and fold them up into a ball shape, place each one into an oven dish which should be lined with olive oil, it doesn’t matter where you place each ball, be rustic! brush some olive oil over the balls and sprinkle over your herb and spice mix and place them into the oven at 220° for 25 minutes
Step 5: Take them out of the oven and let them cool for 20 minutes, they’ll be piping hot! take them out of the dish and eat eat eat away!
