Homemade BBQ Sauce

I’m a sucker for some good BBQ sauce, though there are so many various recipes you could get lost looking for one that suits you, i think the perfect BBQ sauce should be sweet but also have a bit of kick in it from the spices, it’s simple to make if you have the right ingredients.


  • 5 tablespoons of brown sugar
  • 4 tablespoons of worcester sauce
  • 2 tablespoons of malt vinegar
  • 200ml pineapple juice
  • 2 tablespoons of paprika 
  • 2 tablespoons of cayenne pepper (optional for spice heads)
  • 2 tablespoons of salt
  • 1 tablespoon of black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons of mixed herbs (marjoram, thyme, basil, oregano)
  • 2 tablespoons of garlic power
  • 1 tablespoon of chilli power (optional for spice heads)
  • juice from 1 and a half lemons
  • 1 bottle of good brand ketchup 


Step 1: Get all the ingredients and mix them together until they form back into a sauce 



Step 2: Pour the mixture into a pot and put on a low simmer for around 40 minutes


Step 3: Let the sauce cool down for an hour and then it’s ready to serve, enjoy your BBQ sauce!
